Common questions
- The widget shows "—" instead of a temperature.
- Open the app once so it can fetch a fresh reading. Widgets read a snapshot written by the app; if the app has never run, there is nothing to display.
- Location access is denied.
- iOS / iPadOS: Settings → Grimcast → Location → While Using the App.
macOS: System Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → enable Grimcast. You can also pin a saved waypoint from the sidebar instead of relying on your current location. - Forecast seems stale.
- Pull to refresh on iPhone / iPad, or press the refresh control on Mac. Widgets auto-refresh about every 30 minutes.
- Which devices are supported?
- iPhone and iPad on iOS / iPadOS 17 or later, and Mac on macOS Sonoma (14) or later.
Privacy
Grimcast does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. Your location is used on-device to fetch weather from Apple WeatherKit and is never sent to the developer.
There are no accounts, no analytics, and no advertising.
