Grimcast
Summary
Grimcast does not collect, store, sell, or share any personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising networks, and no third-party trackers. Your use of the app is private by design.
Information the app uses
Location. If you grant location permission, Grimcast uses your device's coordinates to request a weather forecast for your current position. The coordinates are sent only to Apple's WeatherKit service to fulfil the forecast request and are handled under Apple's Privacy Policy. The developer does not receive, log, or store your location.
Saved waypoints. Any cities you pin for the widget or the app are stored locally on your device in an App Group container. They are never transmitted off the device by the developer.
Preferences. App settings such as temperature units are stored locally on your device.
What the app does not do
- No user accounts, sign-ups, or logins.
- No analytics SDKs or crash reporting services that identify you.
- No advertising, no ad identifiers (IDFA) use.
- No third-party SDKs that transmit data.
- No sale or sharing of personal information.
- No tracking across apps or websites.
Third-party services
Grimcast uses Apple WeatherKit, a first-party service provided by Apple, to retrieve weather data. Requests to WeatherKit are governed by Apple's own privacy practices. No other third-party services, analytics, or advertising networks are used.
Children's privacy
Grimcast is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from children. Because the app does not collect data from anyone, it does not collect data from children either.
Changes to this policy
If the privacy practices of Grimcast change in the future, an updated policy will be published at this URL with a new effective date. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes on the App Store.
